The UK government has revealed the details of proposed regulation on online harm. The online harm bill sets out strict new guidelines regulating the removal of illegal content, including child sexual abuse, terrorist material and content that promotes suicide. Ofcom has been confirmed as the regulator by the new proposal and will have the authority to establish fines of up to 18 million pounds or 10% of global turnover. In addition, Ofcom will have the power to block services from the UK entirely.
