India and the EU announced the creation of the new Trade and Technology Council (TTC), which aims to deepen their strategic partnership in trade and technology. Representatives of both partners will co-chair the TCC.
It will provide the political foundation and framework needed to advance technical work in critical areas such as connectivity, green technologies and resilient supply chains. Ministerial meetings will build on the preparatory work of three working groups focused on specific areas of mutual interest: (i) Strategic technologies, digital governance and digital connectivity; (ii) Green and clean energy technologies; and (iii) Trade, investment and resilient value chains.
The groups have already been established and will begin their activities within two weeks. The first EU-India ministerial meeting is planned to take place in spring 2023.
