The studies by the European Commission reveal that the broadband customers in Europe are getting only about three quarters of broadband advertised and paid for. It is expected that the Telecom Single Market rules, to be implemented as of May 2016, will make a change by forcing more transparency with the providers. The broadband prices are declining, but they vary significantly among the telecom providers and EU states. In terms of coverage, 99.4% of EU households has access to some form of broadband, with mobile high speed broadband being the dominant and Next Generation Access (over 30Mbps) with almost 70% coverage.
