Representatives from  the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand  have released a set of 11 voluntary principles on how online tech companies can stop the spread of online child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These principles have been supported by a coalition of tech companies that include Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Twitter.

Some of the principles propose companies to: (a) combat and report any CSAM on their platforms; (b) adopt child-specific safety measures; (c) prevent live-streaming services from being used for abusive purposes; (d) collaborate with other tech companies  by sharing useful practices and data to prevent further abuse from spreading online. However, the principles do not directly address the issue of encryption, where the tech industry differs with law enforcement.
