Vodacom, a connectivity provider, is partnering with AWS, a cloud provider, to consume and resell cloud service is in Africa. Vodacom group CEO, Shameel Joosub, said that Vodacom will move more services to the cloud for more efficiency and fast data analysis. Vodacom with its large market share will resell AWS services, and the AWS platform will be used by Vodacom to build services such as: business intelligence as a service, chabot as a service, security as a service, and even Internet of things as a service.
In 2020, Vodacom will begin moving its services to the AWS cloud. It plans to build an AWS cloud centre of excellence and train its staff.
