The chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), a strong supporter of net neutrality, has announced his resignation, due to take effect starting 20 January. Tom Wheeler is referred to as the driving force behind the net neutrality rules adopted by the Commission in 2015. His resignation is therefore seen as paving the way for a new battle over net neutrality in the US, especially considering that members of the Commission have already announced their intentions to 'remove those rules that are holding back investment, innovation, and job creation).
