Uber Green is now available in London and gives the possibility to passengers to select a fully electric car for the first time in the UK. Uber Green will cost the same as a regular UberX ride on the app. In addition, drivers who switch to electric cars will pay a lower service fee of 15 percent on Uber Green trips. The company expects that this incentive will encourage more drivers to change their cars and, therefore, it will improve air quality in the city. Uber has helped drivers in London to buy electric vehicles since 2019 with the implementation of its Clean Air Plan.

Uber estimates that by the end of 2021 Uber Green will be fully operating in 60 major European cities while it will be available in 1400 US cities by the same time.
