Uber was sued by a former driver for racial discrimination in San Diego, USA. Drivers alleged that Uber's rating system disproportionately discriminate against non-white drivers. Uber's evaluation system serves as a basis to exclude drivers from the platform. According to the lawsuit, the average ratings of non-white drivers is lower without reliable justification. The lawsuit represents all minority Uber drivers who have been excluded from the platform because of poor star ratings. It requires Uber to stop using passenger evaluations when deciding whether to exclude drivers.
