The Telecom Regulations Authority of India (TRAI) has referred service providers to the provisions of the Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Reference Regulation, 2018 that came into force in July 2018 to curb the problem of unsolicited commercial communications, in a press release. Among other things, the press release details the main objectives of the regulation which is to protect consumers from spam messages and enhance the experience of subscribers. It also highlights the salient features of the regulations, as well as how the regulatory framework could benefit business entities.
