A recently-signed surveillance law would force Russian telecommunications providers to spend 'billions of dollars more than they can afford.' According to the new legislation, 'organisers of information distributes' need to save and store the communications of their customers for a period of six months. According to Megafon, one of Russia's biggest telecom companies, the new rules could cost them an estimated 3 billion dollars. The law will go into effect on 20 July.
