Taiwanese based Qnap Systems has introduced new software that employs network attached storage (NAS) and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) for real time facial recognition. The software, known as QVR face uses real time streaming protocol (RTSP) cameras and third-party systems for real time video analytics. Once stored on a NAS, the videos can be used to build profiles. Some of the advertised use cases for QVR include automated service management, on-premise security, door access and digital signage systems.
Qnap has also availed QVR as an app for download, where users can add up to 10 images for facial recognition. They can also add analytic tasks or profiles.
