Surveillance company Palantir is marketing COVID-19 tracing technologies to governments in Europe, Bloomberg reports. The technologies use mobile phone data to analyse movement of people. They can also predict staff needs and supply shortages, helping health ministries and hospitals be more efficient. Last month, Palantir was contracted by the UK's National Hospital Service (NHS) to create an integrated COVID-19 data platform. The platform collates information such as patients hospital stays, hospital capacities and waiting times. Authorities will use the platform to visualise spread of the virus and make decisions on how to curtail it.
