According to Politico Pro, the Finnish presidency of the Council of the EU has publisheda new draft version of the ePrivacy regulation. According to IAPP, this new draft text comes after Germany published a position paperindicating it could not accept the regulation as it stands due to a lack of protections for the confidentiality of communications, which are covered in Article 6. The proposal for the ePrivacy regulation waslaunchedin 2017 by the European Commission, following the adoption of the GDPR.
