Bukina Faso's government has invested in the establishment of an Internet exchange point (IXP) and a virtual landing point (VLP) in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso which will be located in the Sarfalo Transmitting Center. The enablement of local connectivity between telecom and Internet Service Providers will provide reduced network latency and improve the overall traffic transmission speeds. This investment is part of a World Bank-financed West Africa Regional Communications Infrastructure Program Project where an additional 15 gigabits per second of international bandwidth brings the total capacity available to the country to 60 gigabits.
