A report from US NGO the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) analysed consumer behavior and perceptions of security regarding connected devices while focusing on generational differences. According to the report, nearly half of all respondents say they always research how device manufacturers handle data collection and user privacy. Yet less than half of all respondents take proactive steps to stay secure by updating their antivirus software or enabling two-factor authentication. The report also emphasises that older respondents tend to refrain from compromising personal data more than younger respondents.
