According to Euractiv, Microsoft has announced its commitment to store and process EU personal data within European borders. The move intends to address uncertainties surrounding the transfer of data between the EU and the United States following a ruling by Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) known as Schrems II. This commitment will apply across all of Microsoft's core cloud services -Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365. Microsoft is calling this plan the EU Data Boundary for the Microsoft Cloud, which will leverage data centers in 13 countries: Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
