Malta's commitment to diplomacy

Malta is notably committed to nurturing international relations and comprehension, significantly emphasizing diplomacy and international collaboration. This pledge is highlighted by Malta's strategic geographical position at the crossroads of Europe and Africa, casting it as a vital participant in broader geopolitical influences. This commitment has been evidentially demonstrated during Malta's hosting of crucial private discussions between the United States National Security Advisor and the Chinese Foreign Minister, further reinforcing its strategic roles and bridge-building ambitions.

Reducing inequalities

Regarding economic growth and trade, Malta champions the principles of open, fair trade, eschewing protectionism. This philosophy is enhanced by Malta's substantial focus on social protection. The Maltese government has enacted pivotal measures, including the introduction of free childcare, empowering more parents to integrate back into the workplace, and the incorporation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a compulsory subject in schools nationwide. These actions corroborate Malta's alignment to sustainable development goals (SDGs) 10: Reduced Inequalities, and 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Climate change: Malta's UN Security Council role

Given the planet's climate changes, Malta's resolve to combat climate change and its repercussions is commendable. During its tenure in the UN Security Council, climate change and oceans were accorded top priority by Malta. It actively partakes in discussions concerning the impacts of climate change, especially on islands, and advocates new countermeasures, thus fervently contributing to SDG 13: Climate Action.

Multilateralism and inclusivity
