Disinformation about COVID-19 treatment has been going around in Latin America. In Brasil, Facebook detected a network of fake accounts linked to President Bolsonaro's government. The accounts were promoting fake and misleading information about COVID-19. For instance, Bolsonaro shared a video of him taking hydroxychloroquine. Although he admitted that the drug had not been scientifically he claimed it was working for him. In Bolivia, a post shared thousands of times assured that the Bolivian Ministry of Health had approved the use of chlorine dioxide as treatment and a video featuring a Mexican pastor shared 285,000 times promoted the use of another unproven drug called ivermectin.
