Kenya's electoral management body- the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has commenced a month long voter registration drive for the 2022 General election. The exercise involves biometric capture of new voters. Existing voters who wish to change their polling stations can also do so. IEBC targets to register 6 million new voters who include youth who attained voting age since the last election. The body says that among challenges they are facing are voter apathy, as well as youth without national ID cards- a prerequisite for voter registration.
