The number of online threats stopped by Kaspersky's business solutions in Southeast Asia (SEA) increased by 45% in 2022, according to the company's most recent data. Singapore saw the biggest year-on-year increase in web threats targeting businesses last year, with a 329% increase in web threats. Malaysia is another top target, with a 197% increase in web threats targeting businesses, followed by Thailand (63%), Indonesia (46%) and the Philippines (29%).
SEA has long been a target for cybercriminals looking to steal sensitive information and disrupt online services, with a rapidly growing population of internet users and accelerating digital transformation in the region.
