The Indian government has launched a Global DPI Repository and a social impact fund to promote the adoption of digital public infrastructures (DPI) worldwide, as part of its G20 initiatives. This comes in the aftermath of the G20 summit where all 20 member-states expressed their support for DPI policy initiatives.

The repository, aims to facilitate the sharing and development of digital public infrastructures solutions and act as a centralized platform for global DPI projects implemented by different governments. It showcases notable examples like Australian government's Digital ID system, Singapore's National Digital Identity system, and the European Union's Digital Identity Wallet, among others. The repository's main objective is to address the knowledge gap in the decision-making and implementation processes associated with the design, construction, deployment, and governance of DPIs.

India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also announced the creation of a Social Impact Fund (SIF) to provide financial support to countries working on the development of DPIs, offering both technical and non-technical assistance. India has made an initial commitment of$25 million (USD) to the fund, which will help promote the adoption of DPIs worldwide. The fund allows contributions from other governments, international organizations, and philanthropic entities.
