The Union Cabinet of India, led by the Prime Minister, has approved signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Antigua & Barbuda that establishes a cooperative effort to exchange successful digital solutions implemented at a population scale to advance digital transformation initiatives.
It aims to facilitate closer cooperation and sharing experiences and technology-based solutions, exemplified by the INDIA STACK initiative. Both nations envision leveraging these digital transformational endeavours to enhance collaboration, potentially creating employment opportunities within the IT sector.
The three-year agreement covers both Government-to-Government (G2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) efforts, emphasising Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). The financial aspects of the collaboration will be supported by the governments' regular allocations to ensure sustainability.
Why does it matter?
This initiative aligns with India's broader goals of digital empowerment and fostering a knowledge-based economy, leveraging its expertise in DPI implementation and enhancing cooperation.
