Speaking at the high-level segment of the 43rd session of the UN Human Rights Council, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres underlined that digital technologies including facial recognition systems, digital identification and biotechnology must not be used to violate human rights, deepen inequality and discrimination. To that end, Guterres added that the work of the High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation has 'pointed the way to a world in which everyone benefits from profound advances and new frontiers'.
