Government agencies in San Francisco are working together to make technology more accessible to better serve their citizens who have disabilities. Government organisations are working harder than ever to improve the accessibility of online resources for all users, emphasising a range of tools.
The Mayor's Office on Disability (MOD) in San Francisco, led by Deborah Kaplan, deputy director of programmatic access, described San Francisco as a collaborative city where many agencies and authorities cooperate. According to Kaplan, one of the main ways MOD serves this group is by collaborating with the ADA coordinators in various areas, offering support, and assuring consistency. This task entails serving as a compliance and accessibility policy and best practices advisor to both departments and the Board of Supervisors. She emphasised that San Francisco uses a collaborative approach with several agencies and jurisdictions cooperating.
