The Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) has added three new categories to its hash-sharing database's taxonomy in order to help GIFCT members respond to terrorist content on their platforms. The three categories are:
GIFCT members use hashes, numerical representations of images and video, to quickly identify visually similar content which has been removed by one of the members. GIFCT members can then re-review the content to ascertain if it breaches their terms and conditions.
