The mobility product and solution teams here at Cisco are honored to be recognized this month by industry experts at two global events. Mobility IQ not only won the top prize for the "Most Innovative Big Data Platform/Service" at the 10th annual LTE Asia Awards on October 6th in Singapore, but it also won the WBA Wi-Fi Industry Award for "Best Wi-Fi Service Innovation" last week in San Jose, where Cisco Hyperlocation also won the award for "Best Wi-Fi Service Solution for Consumers or Enterprises."

The most gratifying part of winning these awards is the common word found in each one: Service. The innovations represented by Cisco Mobility IQ and Hyperlocation are directly targeted at improving our customers' ability to improve the mobility services they deliver to their subscribers.
Mobility IQ gathersdata across the wireless network, analyzes the data, and presents it as visual insights that can be used not only to optimize network operation, but also to inform marketing strategies and ultimately deliver new services to retailers, hoteliers, stadium owners, and Smart Cities. I was recently in Dublin and had the pleasure of capturing Mobility IQ in action serving the competitors and fans participating in the Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta. Watch this stunning footage to get a sense of how Universal Wi-Fi coupled with Mobility IQ can change the game for an event, and indeed for a town.
Cisco Hyperlocation takes this service capability one step further. The Cisco Hyperlocation Module is a patented 32-antenna phased array that surrounds a Wi-Fi access point to deliver pinpoint precision, with BLE beacons built in for added service flexibility. The improved accuracy -to within a single meter -can take carrier Wi-Fi location services to new levels of relevance and efficiency, helping to deliver more targeted content to users. Give directions to new customers. Place products according to consumer preferences. Rearrange aisles and shelving and signage to capitalize on shopper foot traffic. It's all made possible with precise location detection.
It was clear at the WBA Wi-Fi Global Congress last week that the Wi-Fi in Industry is bursting with energy and creativity to meet the expanding needs created by Voice over Wi-Fi, the integration of licensed and unlicensed technologies, Smart Cities and the Internet of Everything. We're excited to be part of this growing innovation cycle, and to lead the way with our latest technologies focused on helping our customers deliver the best wireless experience to their customers.
