According to Reuters, Facebook announced it would now share the report on its privacy practices to a newly formed committee on its board, following its settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over a data privacy probe. In a blogpost, Facebook Chief Privacy Officer Michel Protti announced that an independent, third-party assessor will review Facebook's privacy practices and report on them to the Privacy Committee and the FTC.
