The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) issued anopinion on the interplay between the ePrivacy directive and the GDPR. The opinion indicates that data protection authorities have competency to enforce the GDPR, and the mere fact that a subset of the processing falls within the scope of the ePrivacy directive, does not limit their competence regarding the GDPR.
