The European Commission (EC) has announced the adoption of an Implementing Decision to support the setting up of a voluntary gateway service. The aim is to facilitate the interoperability of contact-tracing and warning apps within the EU.
The voluntary gateway service would consist in an interface to efficiently receive and make available relevant pseudonymised information from national contact-tracing and warning apps in a secure manner. According to the EC, this will mean that the users will only need to install one app within the EU for contact tracing.
