On 16 February 2023, the Government of Dubai inaugurated the world's largest solar-powered data centre, which was developed by Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, ??the digital arm of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

The project is a step towards achieving the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Emissions Strategy 2050 target of generating 100% of its energy production capacity from clean sources by 2050.

The facility, which is powered fully by renewable energy, is located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and has a capacity of over 100 MW. It was designed to deliver services in the areas of digital transformation, cloud and hosting services, IoT services, cybersecurity, smart cities and Moro services supported by ChatGPT technology.

According to a statement by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the CEO of DEWA, the center is expected to boost the country's standing as a world leader in sustainability and the green economy. Additionally, the center is anticipated to serve as an outstanding model for integrating these technologies.
