The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released two reports on the state of digital transformation in Brazil. The first report Going Digital in Brazil explored recent developments in Brazil's digital economy, reviews policies related to digitalization, and provides recommendations to increase policy coherence in this area. It argues that despite recent progress, Brazil lags in investment in digital innovation and in the level of digital skills in the workforce.  To this aim, it recommends ways enhance connectivity and increase adoption and use of digital technologies and further calls upon ministries and government agencies to better co-ordination of digital transformation policies for greater resources for implementing Brazil's Digital Transformation Strategy (E-Digital). The second report OECD Telecommunication and Broadcasting Review of Brazil 2020 pinpoints areas for regulatory and policy reform that can help ensure a successful and inclusive digital transformation. It suggests that Brazil has a good chance to catch up with advanced economies in ensuring access to high-quality communication services that are fundamental for a successful and inclusive digital transformation. Yet, it still needs to ameliorate market conditions, competition and the policy and regulatory framework in communication and broadcasting.
