Cybercriminals have taken to using Telegram rather than the dark web to share stolen data, malicious software, exploits and hacking guides, new research conducted by cyber intelligence group Cyberint and the Financial Times suggests. According to the research, there has been a 100%+ rise in Telegram usage by cybercriminals, as the app is more convenient to use than the dark web. Hackers are less inclined to use other apps; WhatsApp because of privacy reasons and because it displays users' numbers, and Signal because it tends to be used for general messaging among people who know each other rather than forum-style groups.
