According to Euractiv, the 27 EU ambassadors have adopted their common approach on the Data Governance Act (DGA), providing a mandate that forms the basis for negotiations with the EU Commission and Parliament. The DGA is a legislative proposal to establish a data governance framework for sharing industrial data. As the positions of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament appear close, a final agreement is expected to be reached over the coming weeks. Some essential differences will need to be addressed still, including on the issues of the definition of data intermediaries, the concept of data altruism organisations, as well as obligations for public sector entities.
