According to a report, China launched a digital health certificate, available only for Chinese nationals, on WeChat. The certificate includes the user's nucleic acid test and serum antibody test results, and vaccination status. The health information stored on WeChat is encrypted in a QR code that could be verified, decrypted, and read using a public key provided by the issuing authority. The digital certificate could then be provided to the relevant authorities overseas as evidence of a person's health status. Spokesman Zhao Lijian said that China stands ready to discuss with other governments to establish mutual recognition mechanisms of health code information.
