Chinese government released an app to detect close contact with COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), which now enables people to assess if they are at the risk of contracting coronavirus. The app was developed in collaboration with the General Office of the State Council, the National Health Commission, and the China Electronics Technology Group Corporations. Users are required to register a phone number, their name and ID number to see if they were in close contact with someone who was infected. Close contact refers to cases where people work together, share the room or live in the same house. Medical staff, family, or other people who have had close contact with patients are also included.
