In the battle against child pornography and illegal content, Canada will be introducing legislation that requires companies to remove online illegal content within 24 hours. The rules being developed by the Ministry of Canadian Heritage, will be applicable to any company operating in Canada, regardless of where they are registered or where their servers exist.
While the work on the regulation has been going on for months, the issue gained attention after survivors of child pornography spoke out about Pornhub allowing users to post illegal videos on its site.
