Several counties in Florida, USA are using the event ticketing website, Eventbrite, to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments in the absence of a statewide distribution system, according to a report. Experts warn that using such platforms will deepen the digital divide for those without access to broadband. Scams are already appearing on the website, directing people to pay for the vaccine appointment. The decent effort is adding confusion and creating cybersecurity and outreach challenges.
