The Canada Border Services Agency has issued a tender to urgently set up an Office of Biometrics and Identity Management. The agency is also seeking to develop a strategy for use of biometric solutions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The agency is also exploring ways of standardising collection of biometric information on potentially inadmissible travellers as well as interoperability with other government departments. Proposed biometrics include voice recognition and geo-location.
