A collaboration between three of Europe's major internet exchanges has been formed to simplify the provision and configuration of interconnection services. The exchanges are AMS-IX in Amsterdam, DE-CIX in Frankfurt and LINX in London and they have provided an application programming interface (API) that allows users to manage new and existing interconnection services. This collaboration is called IX-API and is expected to improve the peering process for users and provide enhancement to the monitoring of provisioning processes.
