Earlier this month, Amnesty International published a report on 'Encryption: A Matter of Human Rights', where it underlines that individuals should be able to encrypt their communications and personal data as an essential protection of their rights to privacy and freedom of expression. The organisation also says that measures aimed at creating backdoors into encryption software represent a violation of international human rights, as they indiscriminately undermine the security of the communications and private data of users.
