Two US house lawmakers have introduced a new bill 'The Preventing Real Online Threats Endangering Children Today Act' to strengthen the existing Child Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). The bill calls for allowing parents to force companies to delete any private information they have collected from their children, raise the age of parental consent from 13 to 16 years, and adds two new categories (precise geolocation and biometric information) that would be protected under COPPA.
