The US Army is working towards integrating additive manufacturing (3D printing) into its supply chain, according to General Gus Perna, the head of Army Materiel Command. The US Army has been experimenting with additive manufacturing in recent years and is now working on developing modalities for effectively deploying the technology across its activities. This would be done in line with an advanced manufacturing policy approved in September 2019 by the Secretary of the Army, and which is intended, among other things, to foster the adoption of 3D printing in production processes.
