The Chair of the Open-Ended Working Group on the security of and in the use of information and communications technologies (OEWG) extended an invitation to various stakeholders to participate in an informal dialogue focusing on the rules, norms, and principles of responsible state behaviour in the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
This dialogue follows discussions over the past two years on threats, confidence-building, capacity-building, and annual progress reports (APRs).
For this particular dialogue, the Chair proposes discussions on additional norms that could complement existing ones, soliciting examples from states.
The Chair is also seeking input on how stakeholders can contribute to developing measures and best practices to protect critical infrastructure and critical information infrastructure from ICT threats, especially in supporting developing countries and small states.
Additionally, stakeholders are invited to consider their roles in developing a checklist for implementing norms, as requested in the Second APR.
The Chair is interested in identifying areas where the implementation of agreed norms may be lacking or improved and how stakeholders can contribute to addressing these gaps.
Stakeholders can register until 26 February 2024. Confirmed participants will receive login details prior to the meeting.
