The UK government will publish two sets of location data under an open government licence that will be accessible from July 2020. The Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs) and Unique Street Reference Numbers (USRNs) are eight digit codes that uniquely identify every property, street, and structures such as street lamps and bus shelters. The location identifiers are centrally issued and managed by Geospace, a company owned by the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey, the national mapping agency for Great Britain. Public and private agencies will be able to access the data through application programming interfaces (APIs).
