The ride-hailing company has temporarily suspended 240 user accounts in Mexico to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. According to a statement posted on Twitter, Uber will work in a co-ordinated manner with health authorities. The users suspended had ridden with two drivers who came into contact with a coronavirus case. The two Uber drivers had given a ride to a passenger from Los Angeles who was infected with the virus, based on information from US health officials. The passenger spent two days in Mexico City but did not have the symptoms until returning to the USA. Uber will monitor the users who had their accounts suspended for 14 days.
