The Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MINT) and the Internet Society unveiled a new collaboration agreement to promote the digital economy and drive economic transformation in Ethiopia. Such collaboration aims at buttressing the implementation of the digital transformation strategy by promoting digital services to develop key sectors to economic growth such as agriculture, manufacturing, services, and tourism. It will further help expand connectivity to rural areas, build internet infrastructure, and strengthen internet governance. 'This strategy shall be realised through collaboration and commitment of everyone including government, non-governmental, development partners and societies. The strategy demands aggressive commitment to increase infrastructure, enabling systems, digital applications, and enabling ecosystem,' said Ethiopian State Minister for Innovation and Technology Dr Ahmedin Mohammed.
