The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation has ruled that Telegram, a non-profit cloud-based instant messaging service, must share its private encryption keys with Russian state authorities, Bloombergreports. The company previously refused the demand of FSB, Russian state security service, to hand over its private encryption keys last year and was fined with$14,000. Telegram was now given 15 days to provide the encryption keys by the state communications regulator Roskomnadzor. According to Telegram's lawyer, the company plans to appeal the ruling.
