Under the slogan 'towards 100% digital government', the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) published the UAE Digital Transformation Enablers Report which pinpoints the major achievements of the digital transformation process. It further identifies the key global indicators that acknowledge the UAE's leadership in digital maturity. This includes the United Nations eGovernment Survey 2020 which ranked the UAE the 21st globally and the 8th globally in the Online Services Index. The World Bank also ranks the UAE as the only Arab country in its GovTech Maturity Index. Commenting on the report, the TDRA Deputy Director-General for the Digital Government Sector HE Eng Mohammad Al Zarooni said: 'The UAE was among the first countries to launch the e-government project, and then continued its leadership to reach the digital government we live in today. The Report observes important chapters in our beloved country's journey, starting with the establishment of the General Information Authority in 1982, to the establishment of TDRA in 2003, and reaching today's inauguration of a new phase represented in the next fifty years and the vision of the UAE Centennial 2071.'
