According to a news report, Myanmar has entered a second nationwide internet shutdown days after the military coup that coincided with an earlier internet blackout. The internet watchdog Netblocks confirmed from its real-time network data that major social media services including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram were down as at 6 February 2020. The internet restriction is believed to stem from the widespread protests and criticisms against the military uprising. According to the report, Netblocks observed a partial restoration of services on 7 February; however, network data showed that most social media websites were still not accessible.
