Mauritius has become the 37th country to sign the Second Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cybercrime, on enhanced cooperation and disclosure of electronic evidence. Mr Vijayen Valaydon, Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius to France, signed the protocol in the presence of Bj?rn Berge, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
Opened for signature on 12 May 2022, within the framework of an international conference in Strasbourg, France, the Second Additional Protocol on enhanced cooperation and disclosure of electronic evidence is a legal instrument that allows governments to cooperate in cross-jurisdictional issues such as requests for information and data from other jurisdiction (for example, obtaining subscriber information, traffic data, etc.), enhance prompt cooperation in emergencies, investigate jointly, to name a few.
